Ashes of the Heart

I’m sorry I couldn’t be your Jo

When you were in need,

Moments, so desperate, and low

But never gave any heed.

I’m sorry for all the times

I was filled with shame,

Time so little, the bell chimes,

For your time to go, came

I’m sorry, I never said hi

Nor ever gave any love

That now, it’s too late to say goodbye.

I miss being your little dove.

I’m sorry for all the hate

And agony, I showed,

Maybe it was too late to wait;

Words so hard to escape the throat.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t be your cane.

Turning my back, I left

While you were dying in pain

Your affection stolen in theft.

I’m sorry, I never spoke;

You laying peacefully in bed.

Ashes, burning, with fire and smoke

The sky now, just clad and red

I’m sorry I never held,

your tired and  worn out hands.

Or ever tried to know how you felt

Your strands mixed with the sands.

I’m sorry you left,

Tears silent as the rain

Though it was for the best;

I wish to call you Aachi again.

I’m sorry for everything,

I could have been and never did

Cannot hear you sing,

With the noise and chaos amid

Hearts filled with so much regret

The times, I missed your call

Your lungs burning like a cigarette;

There is nothing to say at all.
